REPORT:

“Intercepted transmissions revealed the planned demonstration of historical records of galactic history circa 35 ABY.”

For the final instalment of the Skywalker saga, IMAX Melbourne was hosting an early evening premiere screening before the big midnight release. Disney kindly called on the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion and Mandalorian Mercs to help celebrate the event.

Two First Order troopers and Kylo Ren were deployed to help entertain cinema patrons among the nice decorations in the IMAX lobby. A larger contingent of troopers milled about the lobby and braved the heat outdoors to accompany the giant First Order TIE Fighter parked outside the entrance. Combining our efforts with the Rebel Legion and Mando Mercs resulted in a great group of costumed characters and the crowds certainly appreciated our presence.

After about an hour of entertaining the crowds we took our leave to de-kit and watch the movie.

INJURIES: None to report.

ARMOUR REPAIRS: None reported.

MISSION STATUS: Complete

Report:
Troopers met at the nearby Servo for distribution of passes, then we all rolled in to the Show in force. Both Imperials AND rebels all parked together, and with an Audience of a few Farm animals (yes, go crazy people!!!) we proceeded to start one of the WETTEST car park changes I have ever done… car mats were used as dry spots to stand on, and I actually put on as much gear as I could while Still in the drivers seat…

Once everyone was ready, we then proceeded to enter the Show.

It was Quiet…. REAL QUIET… lol

The wet weather made for a slow Start to the event, but as the day ground on, and costumes became heavier as more rain soaked into them, the public slowly began to trickle in. we found a few fun ways to entertain ourselves when the rain got too heavy, A highlite was spending time in the Portable Library bus/truck. I can now add Scanning crew to my Job skills…

As the Day wore on, the weather didn’t oblige and get any better. at around 1pm, all troopers agreed that we weren’t seeing anyone new, and most people were hiding in the limited shelter. with an hour still to go, we called it quits, and began the arduous task of getting changed out of wet costumes, and into semi dry civvies…

Injuries – Nil to report.

Armour Repairs: – I think Something may have Happened to the Directors Costume… Timoth, can provide more details??.

Mission Status – Complete.A donation was collected from the Show Organising Committee, I think it was $200 to the Isabella and Marcus Foundation… Andy V, can you confirrm this??

Report:
Village Cinemas requested an Imperial presence to maintain law and order for a 3 day period during the launch week of Star Wars: The Rise of Starwalker, the final installment in a fantasy holo trilogy set in a post-modern galaxy after the unlikely fall of our glorious Galactic Empire.
Troopers assembled at the Deployment Zone (DZ) at agreed times for operational briefings. Security was heightened and local guides required to navigate the maze that is VC Southland back office. Change facilities were excellent and provided an excellent location for pre- and post-troop high jinx – but most importantly it made a nice change from seeing spandexed individuals in carparks.
With Tatooine like weather conditions outside, troopers hoping for a cool respite were treated to relatively better conditions within the operational area. Helmet cooling system failures for TK27120 and TK27777 gave the troopers the opportunity to condition for future deployments to the Naboo swamps.
Whilst Friday night was relatively busy, trooper chatter indicates that Saturday and Sunday were less so. Amongst the high-fives and propaganda opportunities, troopers handed out chocolate, a local sweet delicacy. This proved particularly popular amongst the younger citizens – perhaps only until they tasted it, and found it bitter, not sweet.
All in all, an enjoyable troop which closed with TK27777 officially “patching” DZ51000 and DZ86236 into the Garrison.

Casualties: Nil
Equipment malfunction: TK27120’s helmet fans (Friday 20/12); TK27777’s helmet fans (Sunday 22/12);
Injuries: ID27777’s feelings – thanks TK27120
Happy People: Many – especially those little kids instructed by the kindly Imperial troops to consume the free chocolate right before bedtime.
Mission Status: Complete

Report:
Troopers arrived at the nominated Imperial Marshalling point, and once paperwork was sorted, we were ushered in to our “spacious” change room (much better than last years!!!) once troopers were geared up and ready for deployment, we headed out to the main entrance, to the excitement and cheers from many in the crowd. as we patrolled the line, many younglings asked for photo’s. a few of the special needs children were a little overwhelmed initially, but by the end of the day, almost all of them had come back and had a photo too…

Once the event was in full swing several patrols were conducted of the grounds. troopers thought about attempting some of the rides (the dodgem Cars was the going to be the most Likely) but we decided not too. After a short lunch break, a final sweep of the venue was conducted with a few more intimate moments shared with very Special Kids. In Particular, a Vision impaired young man got to get up close and personal with the troopers in Armour, so he he could “feel” what they looked like. Congratulations and a Special mention to the troopers who were involved with creating that special moment for the young lad. As the day progressed, we continued to patrol the venue, most people still smiled, but KFG job was done. At approx 1:30pm, Imperial Forces departed the event.

Report:
Troopers arrived to entertain crowds in the pre walk madness, with plenty of photo’s taken. With one of our own Troopers Being a T1D (Type 1 Diabetic) and sporting a non regulation addition to his imperial uniform, plenty of young imperial citizens wanted a pic and asked lots of questions of the trooper. After a short break, the walk commenced, and ALL the KFG troopers who were in attendance took part in the walk, a casual 5 Km stroll along the banks of the yarra. Many younglings wanted to walk with us for a while, But imperial Army forces set a cracking pace which they could not maintain for the duration of the operation…

At the completion of the walk, a few more pics were grabbed, then it was time for troopers to re-deploy to missions else where.

Should also be noted that the Knightfall Team (we had to register to take part in the walk, although it was free) managed to raise $207. Way to go team!!! :!:

Report:
A different format for the parade this year with the parade route now going through the gardens instead of the city centre, and a slightly smaller length. It seemed that crowds were down on previous years and the walk did not take as long.
There was a christmas theme this year and therefore we were adorned with lights and hats etc. Overall a shorter troop than previous years, however the Empire did show up and impressed as usual.

Report:
We were requested once again to support a Tour De Cure fundraising screening of Episode IX. With most of us coming off the midnight screening troops we were still primed and ready to suit up again for photo ops within the cinema. Once kitted up in our cosy green room space, we made our way into Cinema 6 where the patrons were already taking their seats, and took up formation in front of the screen, allowing people to come up and pose for photos. A quick raffle was then held, and after about 20-30 min (it was a short troop), we were released to de-kit and come back to watch the movie again if we pleased.
Overall this was a short and sweet troop, a friendly enthusiastic crowd who you could see were surprised and happy to see us, with a good mix of characters. Byron, the organiser was very appreciative of our turnout and gave his thanks in his crowd address, and to me to pass on as I left the cinema after the movie. Great job troopers!
